[Starlux First Flight Notes: The Beginning of an Elegant Journey]

I finally had the chance to fly with the much-talked-about Starlux Airlines!

From the moment I stepped into the cabin, I was filled with a fresh sense of excitement and anticipation. Starlux Airlines is a relatively new Taiwanese airline, and its branding immediately caught my attention. The name itself is captivating: the Chinese name, which translates to "Star Universe," evokes the image of soaring through the galaxy. The English name, Starlux, combines "star" and "luxury," perfectly capturing the airline's aspirational and elegant identity.

Upon entering the cabin, I was impressed by the sleek and modern design. The warm coffee and gold tones exude a refined and luxurious atmosphere, perfectly suited for travel. The large personal entertainment screens in front of each seat were a pleasant surprise—touchscreen-enabled, intuitive, and user-friendly. Interestingly, the outbound flight had Bluetooth functionality, allowing me to use my own headphones, but the return flight didn’t offer this feature. So it seems not all planes in their fleet are uniformly equipped.

As for seat comfort, it was more than satisfactory. Although the Taipei-to-Fukuoka route takes less than two hours, the seat design and space were well-thought-out and made the short journey pleasant.

One of the most impressive aspects was the cabin crew. Their warm attitude and professional service stood out. While boarding at Taoyuan Airport, I happened to be seated near the crew’s preparation area and observed their friendly interactions. That positive team dynamic gave me extra confidence in the flight, as a harmonious crew often reflects strong teamwork and a well-managed airline.

Now, the highlight—inflight meals!

On the outbound flight, I enjoyed a meal featuring grilled pork rice from the popular restaurant chain "Hutong." It was delicious and well-seasoned, though the portion size might be a bit small for those with larger appetites.

The return meal was a chicken dish with a yuzu twist—light, refreshing, and distinctly Japanese in flavor. Both the fruit and dessert were delightful, with the dessert especially hitting the right balance—not overly sweet, but flavorful enough to complete the meal nicely.



However, I did notice a minor issue on the return flight: the cup served with the meal appeared to have detergent residue. I flagged this to the cabin crew, and the flight attendant responded promptly with a sincere apology and replaced the cup with a paper one. Her friendly and professional handling reassured me, though I do hope Starlux can look into improving their dishwashing process to prevent such occurrences.




One last pleasant surprise—the inflight magazine. I spent time reading several articles and was genuinely impressed. The photography and writing quality were top-notch, offering thoughtful insights into travel destinations. I read pieces on Spain and Indonesia, and both were beautifully curated. It turned what would have been idle time into an enriching mini-journey.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience with Starlux Airlines. It was elegant, smooth, and full of thoughtful touches. I definitely recommend it to fellow travelers and look forward to flying with them again on other routes!

【星宇 Starlux 初搭筆記：優雅飛行的開始】

這次終於有機會搭乘傳說中的星宇航空啦！ 從踏進機艙那一刻起，我就有種難以言喻的新鮮感與期待感。星宇航空的名字本身就很有魅力，中文「星宇」這兩個字營造出一種翱翔宇宙、漫步星河的意象。英文名稱 Starlux 則更點出了奢華（Lux）的品牌風格，搭配得非常到位。 進入機艙後，映入眼簾的是整齊俐落的設計，以咖啡色和金色作為主色調，呈現出既現代又帶點貴氣的旅行氛圍。尤其是個人座位前方的大螢幕娛樂系統，不但尺寸夠大、畫質清晰，還是觸控操作介面，使用起來非常直覺且便利。值得一提的是，我去程的航班上娛樂系統還有藍牙連線功能，可以使用自己的耳機，但回程的飛機上卻沒有，這代表星宇每架飛機上的設備可能略有差異，大家下次搭乘時可以稍作留意。 座位的舒適度也令人滿意，雖然台北飛福岡航程不到兩小時，但座椅的設計與空間安排已經足夠讓人感到輕鬆愜意。 另外，星宇航空空服員的訓練顯然做得相當好，無論是態度的親切度或服務的熟練程度，都令人感受到溫暖與放心。我登機時恰巧坐在機組人員準備登機的區域旁，看著他們自然、愉快地交談，彼此間融洽的互動也讓我對整個航程更加安心。 現在，重點來了！分享我最期待的飛機餐～ 去程餐點是胡同燒肉飯，味道非常棒，調味適中且肉質香嫩。不過份量稍嫌不足，男生或許會覺得不太飽。 回程則享用了雞肉柚子風味餐，口感清爽且充滿濃郁的日本料理風格。搭配的水果和甜點更是亮點，尤其甜點不會太甜，口感清新，有種畫龍點睛的效果。 但比較可惜的是，回程航班上我注意到餐具並未洗得很乾淨，杯子上似乎有洗碗精殘留的痕跡，稍微影響了整體感受。我向空服員反映後，她立即道歉並迅速更換成紙杯，處理方式親切又專業，讓人感覺到星宇的服務精神。不過也建議星宇航空能針對餐具清潔問題進行改善，畢竟這會影響乘客的用餐體驗。 最後不得不提的是星宇航空的機上雜誌，完全超出我的期待！我在機上翻閱了幾篇介紹西班牙和印尼的文章，不論是照片還是文字，都能感受到編輯團隊的用心與細緻。這讓原本只是填補飛行時間的小消遣，成了增廣見聞的絕佳機會。 整體而言，我非常喜歡這次搭乘星宇航空的經驗，也誠心推薦給大家，期待下次再搭乘體驗其他航線！

While exploring the third floor of the international terminal at Fukuoka Airport, I stumbled upon a pleasant surprise in the HAKATA FOOD HALL—a pork cutlet specialty restaurant called Washin Tonkatsu Anzu.
